We are thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new 4-H program at Deerwood Academy Elementary School, set to begin this November 2024. This innovative program is designed to empower young students with essential skills in agriculture, leadership, and community engagement, fostering a love for learning and sustainability.
What is 4-H?
4-H is a renowned youth development program that focuses on "learning by doing." It provides opportunities for children to develop life skills through hands-on projects in areas like agriculture, science, health, and citizenship. By participating in 4-H, students can explore their interests, gain valuable knowledge, and contribute positively to their communities.
Program Highlights:
Hands-On Learning: Students will engage in interactive projects that teach sustainable farming practices, environmental stewardship, and healthy living.
Leadership Development: The program encourages leadership skills by involving students in community service projects and team-building activities.
STEM Integration: Incorporating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the program enhances critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Community Engagement: Students will have the opportunity to connect with local experts and organizations, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
Upcoming Parent Meeting:
To kick off this exciting initiative, we invite all parents and guardians to attend our Parent Meeting on November 19th, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Deerwood Academy Elementary School. This meeting will provide an overview of the program, its benefits, and how your child can get involved. It's a fantastic opportunity to ask questions and meet the dedicated team behind this initiative.
